Offering gentle overnight support for infants and children in the family’s home because I believe consistent, calm care at night makes a meaningful difference for both children and parents!

About

Hello, my name is Colleen. I’m a 37-year-old seasoned mother of two, and I provide overnight infant and child care support for families who need rest, reassurance, and attentive care during the nighttime hours.

NightlightCare was created because I understand, personally, how heavy the nights can feel after having a baby.

After the birth of my second child, I experienced an injury during delivery that led to prolonged healing and many sleepless nights. I often relied on my husband and my parents for overnight support so I could rest and recover. On the nights when help wasn’t available, I pushed myself through exhaustion, and it made healing far more difficult.

What I longed for during that season was simple but powerful: someone calm and capable who could stay awake, care for my baby through the night, and allow me to rest — not just physically, but mentally.

As my youngest daughter grew, she developed nighttime breathing issues, which led to many nights spent monitoring her breathing and supporting her through nighttime struggles. Over time, I developed a natural sleep rhythm that allows me to remain awake, alert, and focused throughout the night. This makes overnight care a role I am uniquely suited for. That vigilance has become part of who I am — steady, quiet, and deeply attentive. Overnight care is not something I take lightly; it’s something I approach with respect for both the child being cared for and the family trusting me with their most vulnerable hours.

When I come into a family’s home, my goal is to provide peace of mind. I want parents to feel confident enough to truly rest, knowing their child is being watched over with care and intention. My attention is fully on your child throughout the night — their breathing, comfort, temperature, hunger cues, and emotional well-being.

I am a mother who notices small details and understands how deeply attachment and reassurance matter in the early years. I approach overnight care with a strong focus on safety, emotional attunement, and respect for each family’s routines and preferences.

In addition to infant care, I also provide overnight support for toddlers and older children who experience night wakings, night terrors, or sleep disturbances. These moments can be especially stressful for parents, and having a calm, attentive adult awake through the night can make a meaningful difference.

This work is not simply childcare to me — it is support during the hours that can often feel the most challanging. My role is to help families rest, recover and feel at ease as their families and lives grow.

If you are looking for overnight care that is steady, thoughtful, and grounded in real experience, I would be honored to support your family.

Overnight Newborn Care

Overnight infant care allows parents to rest while their baby is cared for with patience, consistency, and respect for your preferences.

Overnight support may include:

  • Bottle feeding or assistance with nighttime feeds
  • Diaper changes and soothing between feeds
  • Gentle settling and comfort care
  • Monitoring baby throughout the night
  • Maintaining your baby’s nighttime routine
  • Detailed morning update (with video if requested) so you wake informed and reassured
  • Care is always tailored to your baby’s temperament and your family’s wishes.

Light Household Support

  • In addition to attentive overnight care, light household tasks related to infant care may be provided if decided upon by family to help parents wake to a calmer space.
  • This may include tidying the nursery, folding baby laundry, washing bottles or pump parts, and running or unloading the dishwasher.
  • All household tasks are secondary to childcare and completed as time and baby’s needs allow.
